Intense Vehicle Fire Extinguished In Westport: FD
Fire officials said a single car accident resulted in an early morning vehicle fire.
WESTPORT, CT — Fire officials said a single car accident resulted in an intense vehicle fire early Thursday morning on Wilton Road. According to a news release, the Westport Fire Department was dispatched to the area at approximately 3:08 a.m.
The driver was the only person in the car at the time of the incident and was already out of the vehicle when units arrived, officials said. (To sign up for Westport breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
"Engine Companies worked to extinguish the fire and overhaul the vehicle," Assistant Chief Brian Meadows said in a release. "Rescue 3 assisted Westport Police with providing patient care to the driver until the arrival of Westport EMS."

The scene was cleared at approximately 5:03 a.m. Photos from the Westport Fire Department showed the vehicle resting on top of a stone wall.
