Westport Museum Launches Interactive Project '#What's Your Westport?'

The project is sponsored by the Westport Museum for History & Culture.

The following announcement is from the Westport Museum for History & Culture:

WESTPORT, CT — Westport is a town with a lot to offer: Beautiful beaches, shopping, art, music, dining and history. There’s lots to love in Westport and Westport Museum for History & Culture wants residents and visitors to share exactly what they most adore about the town by joining in an Instagram project called “#What’s Your Westport?”

For #WhatsYourWestport? Museum visitors are invited to write in a hashtag phrase or a “post”
about their favorite Westport things on an oversized “Polaroid” frame, then pose, post on social
and tag the Museum on Instagram @westporthistorymuseum and Twitter @westporthistory.

“This project is part of our ongoing oral history work—with a 21st century twist,” said the
Museum’s Executive Director, Ramin Ganeshram. “By asking people to share what they love
about the town, we are gathering living evidence about the Westport vibe in this moment in
time for future Westporters to enjoy and to research.”

All visitors have to do is come to the Museum and ask to participate. They will be given the giant Polaroid signboard to write in their hashtag or post and then take a photo. Those who wish to take the #What’sYourWestport? Board off the Museum grounds will be asked to leave a deposit in case of damage or loss. Deposits are fully refundable once signboard is returned undamaged. The signboard can be checked out for up to 1 hour.
