Jogger Suffers Shoulder Injury In Collision With Westport Driver: PD
The crash occurred in the area of Greens Farms and Hills Point roads.
WESTPORT, CT — A morning jogger suffered a minor shoulder injury on Jan. 8, when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a Westport man, who was charged by police in connection with the crash.
The incident occurred just after 8 a.m. in the area of Greens Farms and Hills Point roads in Westport.
"The injured party claimed he was jogging on Greens Farms Road, crossing Hills Point Road when he was struck by a vehicle turning left from Greens Farms Road on Hills Point Road," Westport wrote in a statement. "While speaking with the injured party, a witness arrived and advised that the suspect vehicle was at Cumberland Farms (Hills Point Road/Post Road East) and the suspected offender was inside the business making statements about 'hitting a jogger.'"

Westport police found the suspected driver, James Doyle, and vehicle at the Cumberland Farms and arrested him on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, failure to carry a driver's license and failure to drive in the proper lane.
The 56-year-old was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Thursday.
