Kindergarten Registration Underway In Westport

WESTPORT, CT — Kindergarten registration for 2022-2023 is currently underway in Westport, and parents and guardians are urged to register their child as soon as possible.

According to a news release, registration is open to any child who turns 5 on or before Jan. 1, 2023, and registering now will allow the district to optimally plan for new kindergarteners.

All registration information is located on the district website under the Kindergarten Registration link on the homepage.

Guardians are invited to attend a virtual informational meeting about Kindergarten in Westport on March 16 from 9:30 to 10:30. Families can access this Zoom webinar, the link for which will be sent out at a later date, according to the district.

In May, an orientation session will occur at each child's elementary school, during which parents and guardians will have an opportunity to hear more details about kindergarten from teachers and other staff members. A school-specific invitation will be sent to all registered kindergarten families.

Anyone who is unsure about the elementary school their child should attend is asked to go to the district's school locator website.
