Man Allegedly Shoplifts Meat and Steak from Westport Stop and Shop: Police

The incident occurred in late July.

WESTPORT, CT — A 31-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on warrant on a charge of sixth-degree Larceny in connection with the July 29 shoplifting of $200 worth of meat and steaks from the Stop and Shop, located at 1790 Post Road East in Westport.

After responding to the scene at the time, Westport police worked with store security to determine the vehicle involved in the theft. Officers reached out to Fairfield police who were able to help positively identify Jose Rivera as one of the suspects.

He was arrested on Aug. 31 while at court on an unrelated matter.
