Man Attempted To Cash Stolen Checks: Westport PD
The checks were stolen from an unlocked car, police said.

WESTPORT, CT — A Stamford man was arrested after he burglarized a car and attempted to withdraw funds from a bank account, according to police.
The victim's unlocked car was burglarized Sept. 5 at the Saugatuck Railroad Station. Several checks were taken from a checkbook.
Later that day the victim's husband was alerted to possible fraudulent activity in the couple's bank account. Several checking withdrawals were attempted using checks. The total amount of attempted fraud was $1,150, police said.

Kevin Kenmeugne, 22, was identified as a suspect and was arrested Oct. 2, police said. he was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree identity theft and second-degree forgery. He was held in lieu of $15,000 bail.
