"Officers determined that Ayala and the son of the female victim were partying at the victim’s home and a home on Inwood Lane earlier in the night. While at the victim’s home, Ayala became intoxicated, so the victim’s son brought Ayala back to the Inwood Lane address and left him in a vehicle for the night.
"At approximately midnight, Ayala returned to the Hales Court address and entered the residence. Ayala proceeded to enter the female victim’s bedroom while she was sleeping. The female victim awoke to Ayala turning the lights on as he was walking towards her and attempting to unbuckle his pants. The female victim was able to push by Ayala and ran downstairs. Ayala followed the female victim downstairs and as she grabbed her coat, he touched the female victim inappropriately outside her clothing with his hands. The female victim ran to the kitchen, grabbed her phone, and exited her home.

"As the female victim was banging on a neighbor's door for help, Ayala placed both of his hands on her shoulders and began pulling her towards him. The neighbor opened the door, pulled the female victim inside and told Ayala to leave. Ayala then went back inside the female victim’s home. The female victim was not injured as a result of this incident."
Back at the woman’s home, her son and his friend arrived and "had an altercation with Ayala who began fighting them when they arrived to assist the victim."
Officers took Ayala into custody and charged him with:
- Burglary 1st degree
- Creating a Public Disturbance
- Sexual Assault 4th degree
- Unlawful Restraint 2nd degree
He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, which was subsequently reduced to $25,000 by a state Bail Commissioner. Ayala was scheduled to be arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court today, Sept. 26. The current status of his case was not immediately known.
