WESTPORT, CT — Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe and Board of Education Chair Candice Savin will deliver the annual "State of the Town" address virtually at 2 p.m. on Jan. 31, according to officials from the Westport Sunrise Rotary and the Westport Rotary Club.

The event will be live-streamed on westportct.gov and westportlibrary.org, and broadcast live on Public Access Channels 79 (Optimum) and 6020 (Frontier). Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will be no in-person public attendance at this year's State of the Town for public safety reasons.

"Jim and Candice will review Town and School accomplishments during the past year and preview some upcoming initiatives, followed by a question and answer session moderated by [Representative Town Meeting] Deputy Moderator and Westport Rotary Past President Jeffrey Wieser," officials said. The State of the Town is being co-sponsored by the two Rotary groups.
