
A Metro-North train conductor was assaulted after asking a passenger who didn’t have enough fare to exit the train.
An individual aboard the 10:04 a.m. train from Grand Central bound for New Haven didn’t have enough fare and was asked to exit the train at the Westport station, said Aaron Donovan, Metro-North spokesman.
Words were exchanged and the passenger shoved the conductor out of the train, Donovan said. The conductor sustained abrasions to his left hand.

The suspect, who is now in custody, fled the train at the Westport station.
Passengers were delayed about 40 minutes after the train was taken out of service. They were transferred to the next station.

The conductor was treated by EMS personnel and was released.
