National Retailer To Open First CT Store In Westport: Report

The chain operates 48 stores in 15 states.

WESTPORT, CT — Women's clothing retailer Johnny Was is slated to open a new store on Main Street in Westport, the national chain's first Connecticut shop, reports the Greenwich Time.

The store, which sells "boho chic clothing" with "vintage-inspired style," operates 48 stores in 15 states, and it will take over space owned by Empire State Realty Trust Inc. at 69-97 Main St. That site formerly housed the Nike store.

When the new store will open is not known. Patch reached out to Empire State Realty Trust Inc. for information but has not received a reply.

The new store has not yet been listed under the "coming soon" section on the Johnny Was website, but the Greenwich Time writes that the store signed a long-term agreement to lease 1,852 square-feet of retail space at the location.
