New Operator Sought For Westport's Old Mill Grocery & Deli
The Granola Bar, the current operator of the popular spot near Compo Beach, is turning its attention toward expansion in New York.

WESTPORT, CT — After a successful year, TGB Hospitality Group, operator of the Old Mill Grocery & Deli is looking for someone to take over the popular spot near Compo Beach in Westport.
TGB Hospitality, which owns The Granola Bar in town, is planning to expand in New York, and founders and Co-CEOs Julie Mountain and Dana Noorily want to concentrate on those endeavors.
"We were nearing the end of our lease, and we felt great about the work we’ve done to help save the building and deliver delicious food to the Westport community, but it’s time for us to focus on other projects," they wrote in an email to Patch. "We have 6 restaurants in Connecticut and Westchester and more coming soon to NYC."

Old Mill Grocery & Deli will close on Sept. 30, but Soundview Empowerment Alliance, the building's owner, is hoping to quickly find a new tenant.
Soundview, a local not-for-profit with a mission to preserve the 104-year-old building, renovated it after the initial stages of COVID began to ease, and brought in Mountain and Noorily to run the shop.

Asked if they found running the grocery and deli rewarding, the two didn't hesitate to sing its praises.
"Absolutely, very rewarding," said Mountain and Noorily. "Like at The Granola Bar, our breakfast sandwiches and coffee are really popular at OMG&D. To our surprise and delight, we also became known for our pizza. It was really fun to venture into that space and to win best meat and veggie pizza in Westport this year."
