Obituary: Maxine Hinkle, 89, Of Westport

Mrs. Maxine Hinkle, 89, wife of the late Calvin S. Hinkle and a resident of Westport, CT since 1959 passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Maplewood of Orange Assisted Living.

Maxine was born in West Virginia on December 10, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Guy and Vera (Law) Heckert. Maxine was an active member in the Westport community and was a member of the Westport Wise Women, The Westport Women’s Club, The Westport Beach Bunch, and the Westport Gourmet Club.

She was a volunteer at the Carousel Thrift Store and a long time member of the Southport Congregational Church.

Survivors include one son: Mark C. Hinkle and his wife Jean of South Meriden, CT, one daughter: Joan Bowser and her husband Carroll of Stratford, CT, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and her partner of seventeen years Neil Croarkin of Westport, CT.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral on Saturday March 17 at 2 p.m. meeting directly at Southport Congregational Church 524 Pequot Avenue in Southport, CT with a reception to follow. The Harding Funeral Home in Westport, CT is assisting the family with the arrangements.
