Obituary: Sandra Blinn, 72, Of Westport

Sandra Blinn passed away on September 23, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief and hard fought illness. A native of Southport, Connecticut, Sandy was born on January 12, 1949, the daughter of Tessie DeMattia and the late Liberty DeMattia.

She lived in Westport, Connecticut for many years where she raised her children. She was happiest when she was at the beach, in her kitchen, listening to good music, spending time with her family and friends and her dog Stella. She had an amazing gift with plants.

After her retirement from a lengthy career at Walmart, she moved to West Haven, Connecticut to relax on the beach.

Sandy was predeceased by her daughter Jacquelyn Perez, and is survived by her loving Partner Derrick Moody, Son David Aronson (Nancy Chan), Daughter Dawn Blinn (Robert L. Richards Jr.), Sister Linda Voulgarakis (Jim), Brother James DeMattia, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at a later date.
