WESTPORT, CT — A Westport parent was issued a citation for illegal purchasing of alcohol by a minor, after a Halloween party swelled to more than 500 juveniles and took police about two hours to clear, according to authorities.

The party at a Heron Lake Lane home in Westport on Saturday required not only all Westport police officers on duty at the time, but also officers from Norwalk, Wilton, and Weston to help break up.

Westport police were alerted about the party at about 8:30 p.m., and additional attendees were still arriving when the initial call was made, according to authorities.
