WESTPORT, CT — Dr. Delaney Ruston, a physician and filmmaker, will be the featured speaker on Sept. 23 for "Parenting Screenagers: Tips for Success," a discussion in Westport to help parents in the digital age. Ruston is the creator of the 2016 documentary, "Screenagers."

The event is hosted by Westport Public Schools and Westport Together, and will be held at 7 p.m. in the Bedford Middle School Auditorium.

"I am confident that the community is well aware of my convictions about the negative impact that smartphones and social media have had on our children, from elementary through high school," wrote Thomas Scarice, Westport's Superintendent of Schools, in a message to parents and staff. "I strongly encourage you to make every effort to attend. I will be there alongside our families and school community."
