Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008)
In the second film based on the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants novels, the magical jeans vanish, sending the girls halfway across the world to search for them. Ocean scenes filmed include shots in Santorini, Greece and our very own Compo Beach. Sanaa Hamri directed the film and stars Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, and Blake Lively.
The Stepford Wives (1975)

The original version of this creepy film about robotic, carbon copy wives stared Katharine Ross and Peter Masterson as transplanted New Yorkers making a new life in the Connecticut suburbs. The movie filmed in Westport as well as several other Fairfield County towns, including Darien, Norwalk, Redding, Weston, and Westport.

Wes Craven directed the original version of particularly horrifying horror movie, which includes shots of Westport. The 2009 remake did not film in Westport. According to stellar news source Wikipedia, the films are based on a medieval Swedish tale first adapted in a 1960 film (The Virgin Spring) by famed Swedish director Ingmar Bergman.
The House of Dark Shadows (1970)
Before the Twilight series garnered quite a bit of obsessive press coverage, there was The House of Dark Shadows, which features shots of the now-defunct Three Bears’ Inn. The IMDb reports that this film was adapted from a popular gothic soap opera. Apparently, vampire love stories have timeless appeal.
The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit (1956)
Gregory Peck, Jennifer Jones, and Frederic March starred in the film adaptation of Sloan Wilson’s iconic novel, which is set in Westport and follows Tom and Betsy Rath as they struggle to adapt to Post-war suburban life. In a nice bit of continuity, the film includes plenty of shots of familiar Westport landmarks.
