WESTPORT, CT — A pedestrian was injured Thursday afternoon after the victim was struck by a vehicle on the Post Road East near Church Lane in Westport, according to police.

The crash occurred at about 1 p.m., and the victim suffered "significant" injuries, but the wounds were not considered to be a threat to life.

Westport police temporarily closed the Post Road East between Main Street and Imperial Avenue to begin the investigation of the crash, but the road has since been reopened.

At this time, no charges have been filed, but the investigation remains open.
