Pets and July 4th: How to Keep Your Furry Friends Safe
Here are some guidelines on how to treat your animals during the Fourth of July Holiday.

With the Fourth of July holiday approaching, here are some helpful tips to keep your pets safe during the festivities, courtesy of the Norwalk Police Department's Animal Control Division:
1-Keep all pets away from fireworks displays
2-Secure your pets inside during fireworks displays. Put the radio or television on to distract them from hearing fireworks

3- Do not play fetch with fireworks. They can severely injure or kill your pet when they explode
4- Loud noise phobias can cause your pet to bite someone out of fear. Your pet may also run away

5-Signs of noise phobias in dogs are ears in a downward position, trembling, tail tucked between legs, heavy panting or heavy drooling.
"Owners and caregivers should follow these simple tips to keep their pets safe," officials wrote in a statement. "The Norwalk Department of Police Service Animal Control Division wishes everyone a happy and safe July 4th."
