Police have charged two people with driving under the influence this week.
Linda Sharkey of Westport was also charged with failure to drive right.
Police said Sharkey was traveling northbound on Riverside Avenue. and was observed to cross over the double yellow centerline several times. When stopped, the officer detected an odor of alcohol on Sharkey's breath. Sharkey failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Sharkey did submit to breath tests (.158 and .158), police said.

Wilson Vega of Glastonbury was also charged with failure to drive right and having insurance coverage below minimum requirements.
Police said Vega was observed traveling westbound on Charles Street and was observed to cross over the double yellow centerline. When stopped, the officer detected an odor of alcohol on Vega's breath. Vega failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody, police said. Vegas refused to take breath tests.

Both have Dec. 31 court dates.
