Police: Westport Man Hit Girlfriend, Threw Dog Out of House
He was charged with cruelty to animals and other criminal charges.

A Westport man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly hit his girlfriend and threw her dog out of the house.
Martin Smiley, 67, of Westport was charged with criminal violation of a protective order, disorderly conduct and cruelty to animals, according to NBC Connecticut.
He allegedly got into a physical fight with his girlfriend, hit her dog and then threw it out of the house.
