Popular CT News Show Host Lands New Job In NYC

He's joining a New York station as an entertainment anchor/reporter.

One of Connecticut's own is leaving for the bright lights of New York City. Ryan Kristafer, co-host of "CT Style" on WTNH-TV with Teresa Dufour, is leaving the station for a new job at Fox 5 New York as the entertainment anchor/reporter, he announced and was first reported by The Laurel.

Kristafer has co-hosted the breezy WTNH weekday show since 2015 when he joined the station and has a background in entertainment, DJ-ing and media content producing.

"It's really bittersweet. The team at WTNH took as a chance on me as a kid who was hosting events and making YouTube videos," Kristafer wrote in an email to Patch. "Everything I know I learned at the great 8! I feel they are my family, and to experience the city of New Haven, it's culture and people... it is special. I'm really appreciative to have had the chance to meet so many interesting people, tell some compelling stories and hopefully make a few people chuckle. But this new opportunity is something I couldn’t pass up. Connecticut will always be home."
