Propane Leak Reported In Westport, Firefighters Respond: FD
Firefighters found a large in-ground propane tank on its side at a house under construction in Westport.
WESTPORT, CT — Firefighters responded to a report of a leaking propane tank at a Deletta Lane home Tuesday afternoon, according to fire officials.
Assistant Chief Brian Meadows said in a news release firefighters found a large in-ground propane tank on its side at a house under construction. Hazmat technicians were called to the area and determined the tank was full of propane and not actively leaking, Meadows said.
Crews then used a protective hose line to meter nearby homes and removed all ignition sources from the area. According to Meadows, recent rainfall from Hurricane Ida caused the tank to roll on its side.
