Remodeling Contractor Accused Of Stealing Items From Client: Westport Police

This is not the first time the suspect has been arrested this year.

WESTPORT, CT — Jeffrey Chirillo, a 36-year-old Milford contractor already facing charges, was arrested Sunday in connection with the alleged theft of items from a Westport client late last year, according to police.

Chirillo did work at a residence on Woodway Lane in Westport, and items allegedly turned up missing, the homeowner told authorities.

"Officers learned that contractor Jeffrey Chirillo did work at the house and was left alone on multiple occasions," wrote Westport police in a statement. "Chirillo was arrested by the Westport Police Department in February for a separate case involving contractor fraud. While in custody, he was interviewed by Detectives regarding the Woodway Lane thefts. Chirillo admitted to taking sunglasses and snow boots. Based on his confession, Detectives served a search warrant on his home."
