'Road Rage' Incident Leads to Arrest of Westport Man: Cops

A 56-year-old Westport man was arrested on a warrant on Feb. 18 in connection with a January “road rage” incident in Orange where he allegedly threw hot coffee at the victim, according to police.

Paul Wichmann, of Gonczy Road, was charged with second-degree Breach of Peace and Throwing Objects at a Motor Vehicle.

Police said the incident occurred on Marsh Hill Road on January 15 when Wichmann allegedly got “into an altercation” with another driver.

“During this altercation, the arrestee threw a cup of hot coffee into the other vehicle through an open window, and that coffee landed on the other driver,” said police in a statement. “The other driver was not injured in the incident.”

Wichmann was released on a promise to appear in court on March 3.
