Roads Closed In Westport During Outdoor Shopping Event: Police
Police said drivers should expect delays in the center of town during an outdoor downtown shopping event scheduled for this weekend.
WESTPORT, CT — A portion of Main Street and Elm Street will be closed Saturday during the Westport Downtown Merchants Association's outdoor downtown shopping event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to police.
Main Street will be closed between Post Road East and Avery Place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, according to a news release. Elm Street will also be closed between Main Street and the Baldwin Lot during that same timeframe.
Police said these road closures will result in traffic congestion downtown and increased pedestrian traffic, and drivers should expect delays in the center of town.

Police ask pedestrians to use the marked crosswalks, and drivers are advised to use extra caution while traveling through the area.
