Run4Office and the Great Mac and Chili Challenge

On November 6 there will be a 5k race @ Sherwood Island State Park and the Great Mac and Chilli Challange

On November 6 at Sherwood Island State Park, at 9:30 a.m. runners can participate in a 5 K race

which allows runners to pick their bib and run for the party they support is reflecting the national mood regarding the presidential election as the top bib choices include: None of the Above, Running Away to Canada and I'm Just a Party Animal.

The entry fee not only includes a patriotic race gift but a ticket to The Great Mac and Chili Challenge which follows the race where they enjoy unlimited samples of chili and mac n' cheese, voting on their favorites. “Not many races include such great food and we love combining the two events and keeping everything in the election theme.

Registration is online and available through November 4; you can also register at the event itself. Not only will the runners preview the Great Mac and Chilli Challenge but the Farmer's Cow will be on hand to serve both milk and ice cream to the racers as well.

In addition to the 5K race, the Great Mac & Chili Challenge is taking place at Sherwood Island from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Challenge goers will enjoy unlimited sampling of 20 different chilis and mac 'n cheese entries from great local restaurants. Your vote will determines the best in three categories: Beef Chili, Creative Chili and Mac 'n Cheese. Tickets are just $15 adults, $5 kids (6-12) can be bought onlineor at the door (cash or credit). They'll be other treats to sample such as ice cream and cookies plus music.

The restaurants represented in the Great Mac and Chili Challenge include Bogey's of Norwalk, Chef's Table of Fairfield, Chilibomb of Fairfield, DrewbaQ food truck, Firehouse Grill of Monroe, Geronimo of Fairfield and New Haven, Hoodoo Brown of Ridgefield, Hub & Spoke of Black Rock Bridgeport, Judy's Bar & Kitchen of Stamford, Liquid Lunch of Milford and Shelton, Little Pub of Fairfield, Greenwich, Ridgefield and Wilton, Old Post Tavern of Fairfield, Simply Delicious of Norwalk, Stewart's Market of New Canaan, The Blind Rhino of Norwalk and Tru North of Black Rock Bridgeport.
