Runner-Up In LL, Staples Also Second In Final Girls Soccer Poll
The Wreckers dropped a 1-0 heartbreaker to Ridgefield in the Class LL championship game Sunday.

WESTPORT, CT — A narrow loss to defending Class LL champion Ridgefield enabled Staples High School to cop the runner-up position in the final girls soccer coaches poll for Classes LL-L.
Ridgefield was a unanimous top choice of all coaches voting in the LL-L poll, with Glastonbury finishing third.
Lewis Mills captured its first Class M title, going into overtime to take down Plainfield 2-1 Sunday, also at West Haven. The Spartans received top nods from six of seven voters in Classes M-S, with Class S champion Old Lyme garnering the other first-place vote to wind up second.
