School Bus Strike Avoided in Westport

Dattco and the bus driver union came to an agreement.

WESTPORT, CT — The threat of a school bus strike is over after bus drivers agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement.

The contract between workers and Dattco runs through September 2020, according to Westport News. Pay for drivers will increase by $2.15 to $3.75 per hour.

Earlier this month Superintendent Colleen Palmer warned about the potential for a strike, but said there were contingency plans in place to get students to and from school.
