Several Roads Closed In Westport Following Heavy Snow: PD

Police said the town suffered several road closures and downed power lines as a result of the snow.

WESTPORT, CT — Westport Police said the town suffered several road closures and downed power lines as a result of the heavy, wet snowfall that moved through the state Sunday night into Monday morning. In addition to several local roads, North Avenue is currently closed in the area of the Merritt Parkway, police said.

"Please use caution as several traffic lights are not operational as a result of power outages," Lieutenant Matt Gouveia said in a release. "All town agencies are diligently working to alleviate these conditions in partnership with Eversource."

Police said on Facebook the following roads are closed involving trees and/or wires:

  • 14 Crooked Mile Road
  • 17 Pleasant Valley Lane
  • 12 Bonnie Brook Rd
  • Silver Brook Rd @Weston Rd
  • 2 Birchwood Lane
  • 17 Clover Lane

Additionally, residents are asked to treat any downed power lines as energized and to stay away from them. Any power outage reports, general outage questions, or associated non-emergency issues associated with electrical repairs should be directed to Eversource Energy at 800-286-2000.
