Sherwood Island State Park In Westport Reopened Tuesday: Update
Damage caused by weekend thunderstorms required crews to clean up the mess, according to officials.

WESTPORT, CT — Sherwood Island State Park in Westport was reopened Tuesday after damage caused by heavy thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday required the temporary closure of the park for clean up, reports the Hartford Courant.
Though no structures at the state park were damaged by the storms, power was lost temporarily and debris and downed limbs were strewn throughout the site, located just off exit 18 of I-95.
