Sherwood Island has a swimming ban after elevated bacterai counts were found following water quality testing.
New samples were taken Tuesday and state officials expect them back by Wednesday. If bacteria counts recede to acceptable levels then swimming can resume.
Silver Sands in Milford, Indian Well in Shelton and Kettletown in Southbury were all found to have elevated bacteria levels as well.
