Sophia Sarrazin Shoots 65 to win AJGA Tournament
Staples' Girls Golf Team MVP starts summer competition with impressive win.

The high school golf season had barely finished when Staples Girls’ Golf Team MVP, 14-year-old Sophia Sarrazin, headed to Ohio on June 15 to kick off the summer of competitive junior golf.
The trip was well worth the effort as the Freshman Sensation fired her all-time best round of 65 after stellar rounds of 76 and 70 to win the AJGA Mahong Valley Hospital Foundation Junior All-Star Tournament.
After three days of uncooperative weather causing soaked fairways, casual water and slow-rolling greens, Sarrazin was on top of the leaderboard of an extremely competitive field, with players from China and Hong Kong, as well as across the entire U.S.

“I tried to keep my mood neutral throughout the final round because I knew what I was shooting and wanted to stay focused, “ said Sarrazin when asked about her amazing score of 65.
Reviewing Sarrazin’s scorecard, the ingredients to shoot the 65 were accurate irons to make 15 out of 18 greens, and at least 8-9 legitimate birdie putts and sinking four of them. “You might even say the best part was no bogeys. That always helps! “ added the All-FCIAC, All-State and All-New England golfer.
