Staples Girls Lacrosse Routs Ridgefield In Qualifying Game
Wreckers advance to first round of Division II tournament with 19-6 win
It took an extra 24 hours, but the Staples High School girls' lacrosse team posted an easy 19-6 victory over Ridgefield on Wednesday in the CIAC Division II state tournament.
The qualifying game was postponed from Tuesday due to the severe thunderstorms that struck the Westport area.
Staples (12-6) will play at No. 7 seed New Milford on Thursday in a first-round contest at 5 p.m.

Ridgefield, the No. 23 seed, concludes the year at 7-10-1 under first-year coach Michele Ralph.
