Staples High School to Host Two Study Skills Programs for Westport High School Students

Staples High School is proud to host two workshops of its evidence- based Successful Study Skills 4 Students (S4) program for 8th grade and high school students: Study Skills 100, and Study Skills 200. The workshops foster academic achievement by teaching students key study strategies that help them learn and achieve better academic success.

The Study Skills 100 workshop will be held on Tuesdays, January 20, 27, February 3, 10, 24 from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm.

The Study Skills 200 workshop, for students in 8th grade thru 12th grade, will be held on Tuesdays, March 10, 17, 24, 31, April 7 from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm.

Both workshops will be at Staples High School, 70 North Avenue, Westport, CT 06880.

The S4 program is founded on educational research and evidence-based studies. Its highly interactive approach is designed to clearly demonstrate how to apply students’ own curriculum and course material to the taught methodologies and systems. The workshops are taught by experience teachers. Each class is limited to 15 students.

The S4 programs are designed to bolster academic confidence, motivation and preparation as academic workload and expectations increase rise. Skills taught include: planning, organizing, executive functioning strategies, as well as quiz, test, and long-term project preparation strategies.

Each 5-session 7.5-hour workshop is $395. 10% discount for second workshop or sibling, manually credited after registration.

Study Skills 100: Tuesday, January 20, 27, February 3, 10, 24, 2015, from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm

Study Skills 200: Tuesday, March 10, 17, 24, 31, April 7, 2015, from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm
