Staples Hires New Football Coach

WESTPORT, CT — On Monday, Staples High School hired its next football coach after a long search to replace previous coach Marce Petroccio, the Connecticut Post reported.

According to the CT Post, the school has selected Phil Treglia, 41, as its next football coach. Treglia spent last season as the offensive coordinator at Archbishop Stepniac in White Plains, N.Y.

Petroccio resigned from the position in late January for a similar position at his alma mater in Trumbull, according to the CT Post. He had coached the Wreckers for 25 seasons.
