Staples HS Celebrates National Merit Commended Students
A total of 26 Staples seniors have been named as Commended Students in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Staples High School Principal Mr. Stafford Thomas, Jr., JD announced today that 26 Staples seniors have been named as Commended Students in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. A certificate from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation was presented by the principal to the following students who represent almost every academic area of interest and involvement in student activities offered at Staples High School. In addition to being excellent students, this group includes musicians, athletes, journalists, artists, actors, volunteers and activists. The students are:

Approximately 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for
their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2020 competition by taking the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
