Staples HS Students Win Honors In National History Contest
Students participated in the contest virtually throughout the spring.

The school year might be over for Westport students, but last week some Staples students were competing in the National History Day competition. After the entire competition went virtual, students participated throughout the spring. Emma Nordberg and Lea Rivel won fourth place in the nation in the high school website category for their project: Robert Smalls: Breaking the Barrier of Intolerance. Ishan Prasad won 7th place in the high school paper category on the topic titled Ford, Rockefeller, and Gandhi: Breaking Human Rights Barriers through Population Control, 1951-1977.
