Staples' Kelly Wins BlueStreak Player Of The Week Award

Staples'  Nick Kelly has been named the winner the Fairfield County Player of the Week,  an award sponsored by BlueStreak Sports Training and powered by Patch.com and the FCIAC Football Blog.

The sophomore running back rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on just six carries in last week's 34-14 victory over Ridgefield.  Kelly also had a 55-yard reception on a key 3rd-and-19 play when Staples (3-0) was clinging to a 17-14 lead early in the fourth quarter

The Player of the Week candidates are nominated by Patch.com based on its weekly coverage of high school football, and the voting is conducted by the FCIAC Football Blog.

The other nominees were:  Fairfield Warde running back  Alex Delaney, New Canaan wide receiver Kevin Macari and Darien's Peter Gesualdi.
