Staples Players will present Fiddler on the Roof for the first time in 20 years.
“Fiddler on the Roof is a universal tale of change, it’s as simple as that.” said Jacob Leaf, 17, the Fiddler’s central character. “Just like Tevye has to let go of the then common custom of arranged marriage for the love of his daughters and their pursuit of happiness, our own society is embracing the fact that no man or woman should stand against the happiness of others in its recognition of gay marriage.”
Evening performances are at 7:30 on Friday and Saturday, November 13, 14, 20 and 21. Matinee performances are at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 15 and Saturday, November 21. All performances are at Staples High School auditorium, 70 North Avenue, Westport.
Tickets may be purchased online with a credit card at www.StaplesPlayers.comTickets, or in the Staples High School lobby, Wednesday through Friday, November 4-6, 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. by check/cash only.
