WESTPORT, CT — Six students from the Staples High School Music Department were selected and participated in the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) All-State Concert. The event took place April 11-13 in Hartford.

According to a press release, CMEA hosts regional concerts each school year that highlight students’ advanced achievement in music performance. In March, CMEA held a state-wide in-service conference for music educators which concluded with the All-State ensemble performance by high school students.

Students were selected and placed in ensembles as a result of a rigorous audition process. The groups rehearsed for three days with internationally-recognized conductors.
