State Rep. Steinberg, Savin Nominated For Board Of Selectmen
Jonathan Steinberg and attorney Candice Savin plan to take a disciplined approach to handling Westport's issues coming out of the pandemic.

WESTPORT, CT — Connecticut State Rep. Jonathan Steinberg and Board of Education Chairperson Candice Savin have been nominated for the Board of Selectmen by the Westport Democratic Town Committee, which recognized the pair for their roles in guiding the community through the coronavirus pandemic.
The Democratic Town Committee announced the nomination earlier this week. Steinberg, a former marketing executive and Savin, a former prosecutor, said in a news release that they plan to take a solutions-based and pragmatic approach to tackling Westport’s most prominent issues.
Steinberg and his running mate Savin said that they will offer up a more detailed plan in coming weeks but are prioritizing transforming downtown Westport into a community hub with more retail options as well as improving the town’s infrastructure and traffic by making essential investments in both. The pair also plans to ensure that the town government is responsive and champions Westport’s values of sustainability and taking care of the town’s neediest residents along with celebrating Westport’s arts heritage.

“Our administration will work tirelessly to improve the quality of life of all Westporters – from our kindergarten students to our senior citizens, from longtime residents to many new arrivals,” Steinberg said in the release. “Westporters deserve real leadership that can respond to the moment, make things happen, plan for the future and get things done.”
