Stolen Car Recovered After Westport Chase: PD
Police had to use stop sticks to stop the stolen vehicle, police said.
WESTPORT, CT — A Bridgeport man was charged with stealing a vehicle from Trumbull after a short chase in Westport, according to police.
A Westport officer attempted to stop a vehicle that went through a red light on Post Road East, Dec. 15 around 3:30 a.m.
The vehicle turned around in a parking lot and then began driving west on Post Road East, it ran another red light at Church Street, police said.

At that point, an officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to pull over, according to police. Nearby officers were alerted about the situation and stop sticks were used on the vehicle.
The operator continued to drive on deflated tires down Post Road West, but he and the passenger eventually exited and fled on foot.

Operator Kevin Conley, 21, was quickly apprehended and was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, police said.
Conley was charged with first-degree larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, disobeying the signal of an officer and reckless driving.
