Suspect Arrested In Westport Indecent Exposure Case: Police

The incident occurred Sunday on Main Street, according to Westport police.

WESTPORT, CT — A 39-year-old homeless man was arrested over the weekend on charges of public indecency after Westport police said he exposed himself to a group of girls.

Pema Tamang was arrested just after 7 p.m. on Main Street, following the report of the incident, in which Tamang was accused of exposing his genitals while staring at the three girls, who police said are all under the age of 16.

"Mr. Tamang denied the conduct, but officers purportedly observed that his pants were still down when they stopped him," Westport police said in a statement.

In addition to the public indecency charge, Tamang was also charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Tamang is currently being held in lieu of bail of $15,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 27.
