Suspected Westport Jewelry Thief Caught

The woman is suspected in several regional burglaries in which jewelry was stolen.

Westport Police have arrested a 22-year-old Bridgeport woman who’s suspected of breaking into a Westport home and stealing more than $50,000 worth of jewelry last summer, then selling it to a local pawn shop.

Raisa Santos, of Bridgeport, reportedly burglarized a home on Riverfield Drive in Westport in July 2014 and stole the jewelry and sold it to to Connecticut Gold and Silver Brokers in Wilton, according to The Hour.

Santos was arrested Wednesday, April 8 and charged with first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny. Bond on this case was set at $10,000.

According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website, she also faces pending charges in Darien. She was arrested Jan. 16 on charges of third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny. Bond in that case was set at $10,000, according to Judicial Branch website.

The other case pending against Santos involve burglary and third-degree larceny charges in New Canaan, stemming from her arrest in January for an incident in that town in October, according to the Judicial Branch. Bond in that case also was set at $10,000.

She’s scheduled to return to court next week on the various charges.
