Police said the suspects were arrested after an officer noticed them getting on and off a train in Westport.

WESTPORT, CT — Police said two young men were arrested early Christmas morning after an officer noticed them getting on and off a train and later found them to be in possession of burglary tools.

According to a news release, an officer observed the two suspects get on and off the northbound train multiple times while it was stopped at the Saugatuck Station at approximately 1 a.m. At one point, the suspects got off the train with a bicycle before getting back on, police said.

Police said the officer left the Saugatuck Station and traveled to the Greens Farms Station, where he saw the same two young men again in the train station parking lot. One of them was determined to be a juvenile and the other was identified as Jeffrey Pierre, 18, of Stamford, police said. (To sign up for Westport breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
