Temporary Closure Scheduled for North Avenue Bridge in Westport

WESTPORT, CT - The state Department of Transportation will temporarily close the North Avenue bridge in Westport - which spans the Merritt Parkway - during night-time hours from May 9 to May 12, according to officials.

The bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. to approximately 5 a.m. on those nights to complete the concrete pour on the faces of the bridge. Appropriate detour signage will be in place.

Residents are encouraged to seek alternate routes and allow for additional travel time in the overnight hours. The current alternating one-way traffic pattern will resume each day starting at approximately 5 a.m.
