Thief Hits Westport Toy Store Twice; Cops Search For Suspect
The thief is accused of stealing from toys and art supplies this month from Awesome Toys on the Post Road East in Westport.
WESTPORT, CT — Westport police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who is accused of shoplifting twice this month from Awesome Toys at 429 Post Road East.
The suspect, shown in the above surveillance photos, is described as a Hispanic man, who stands 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds, according to police. See the surveillance photos above.
In both thefts, the first on Aug. 7 and the second on Aug. 11, the suspect is wearing a white t-shirt; he wore khaki pants and a beige baseball hat in one theft, and black pants and a black wool hat in the other one, police said.

The Aug. 7 theft occurred at about 4:45 p.m., when the suspect stole a "Traxxas" truck and art supplies. After taking the items, he was last seen running east on the Post Road East.
In the second theft on the 11th, the suspect "filled up two large bags with items and fled the store without paying."
