Title 1 Preschool Screening In Westport June 4

This screening looks at a child's development in the areas of concepts, language, motor, self help and social emotional skills.

Westport Public Schools will be conducting a screening to identify preschool children who are “at risk” for learning under the Federal and Local Title I eligibility criteria. Children who have had limited opportunities for exposure to a structured preschool curriculum to prepare them for elementary school are considered “at risk”. “At risk” also includes the following: a child who has limited English proficiency, a family that is financially unable to access a structured preschool, as well as a child who is “at risk” for developmental delays.

This screening looks at a child’s development in the areas of concepts, language, motor, self help and social emotional skills.

The Title I Screening will be held on June 4, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Stepping Stones Preschool, located at Coleytown Elementary School, 65 Easton Road, Westport. Each child has an individualized screening which will take approximately 45 minutes. To participate in this Title I Screening, you must be a resident of Westport and your child must be 3 years of age by September 1, 2021, and can not be eligible for the 2021-2022 Kindergarten school year (cannot turn five before January 1, 2022).
