Tony, Emmy & Grammy Award-Winner Audra McDonald To Perform In Westport This Month

McDonald's Tony-winning performances include roles in "Carousel," "Master Class," "Ragtime," and "A Raisin in the Sun."

WESTPORT, CT — Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award winner Audra McDonald will perform in "An Evening with Audra McDonald" at Westport Country Playhouse on May 19 at 7 p.m., the theater announced.

McDonald, a six-time Tony Award winner, has also received two Grammy Awards and an Emmy Award. In 2015, she was awarded the National Medal of Arts by former President Barack Obama and was named among Time magazine’s 100 most influential people.

Her Tony-winning performances include roles in Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin in the Sun, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess and Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill. In 2025, she received her 11th Tony nomination for her role in Gypsy, becoming the most nominated performer in Tony acting categories' history.

McDonald’s television credits include hosting PBS’s Live from Lincoln Center, for which she won an Emmy Award, and recurring roles in Private Practice, The Good Wife, The Good Fight and The Gilded Age. Her film appearances include Beauty and the Beast and Respect.

A graduate of Juilliard School, McDonald also has a career as a recording and concert artist. Her latest album, Sing Happy, was recorded with the New York Philharmonic.

McDonald will be accompanied by longtime collaborator Andy Einhorn, who has served as her music director since 2011 and recently worked on the Broadway revival of Gypsy. His Broadway credits also include Hello, Dolly! and Carousel.

Tickets are priced at $150 and $200. The performance will run approximately 90 minutes without intermission.
