Town Of Westport: Tax Collector Announces Fourth Quarter Taxes Due: April 1, 2021

Tax Collector Christine Alison reminded residents today that fourth quarter real estate taxes, personal property taxes, and sanitary sewer use and assessment charges are due April 1, 2021.  Taxpayers have until May 3, 2021 to pay taxes without penalty.  Accounts will be subject to an 18 percent (1.5 percent/month) penalty charge if paid late. Minimum interest charge is $2.00.

Failure to receive a bill does not abate the charges or interest.

Real estate taxes, personal property taxes, and sanitary use and assessment bills may be paid by credit card, debit card, or direct withdrawal from a checking account on-line at www.westportct.gov.

In person payments may be made via the drop box available at the rear of Town Hall  OR

at the Westport location of Bankwell, located at 100 Post Road East, Westport CT.  Taxpayers do not have to be customers of the bank to pay there. Please bring the tax coupon and your check payment made payable to the “Town of Westport.”  Cash will not be accepted. Payments must be the current installment due or the total annual tax, as shown on your payment coupons. Payments will be forwarded to the Westport Tax Collector’s Office, where accounts will be updated. Tax payments will be accepted only during the collection period. Back taxes and partial payments will not be accepted. Banking hours are Monday thru Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Closed Saturdays. Bankwell can be reached at (203) 652-2710.
